Partnership allows pharmacists to move operations online

Pharmacists will be able to process prescriptions, store patient data and order pharmacy products online after a partnership was struck between the Cambrian Alliance Group and RxWeb.

The partnership will mean Cambrian Alliance’s price comparison, stock ordering tool e-CASS2 will be available through RxWeb, the UK’s only internet-based PMR system.

Both companies say the agreement will have major benefits for independent pharmacies giving them a more efficient and effective way of working from their PMR.

e-CASS2 is already used by more than 500 independent pharmacies throughout the UK with 98% of users increasing their profits and saving an average of 10 hours per week using the system. It searches across more than 17,000 lines including generics, brands, dressings and PIs to automatically order from the cheapest available supplier with the click of one button.

RxWeb’s user numbers have grown significantly in the last quarter too as more independent pharmacists look to improve their businesses by utilising innovative technologies designed to enhance and maximise a pharmacy’s operations.

Mark Griffiths, Chairman of the Cambrian Alliance Group, said: “This is an invaluable partnership designed to benefit independent pharmacies by providing them with a complete online package solution for their PMR and ordering needs. We are delighted that more pharmacists than ever before will be able to access e-CASS2 and generate real savings both in time and money.”

Eileen Byrne, Managing Director at Clanwilliam Health (parent company to RxWeb), said: “RxWeb prides itself in being a truly centralised PMR system and the dynamic e-CASS2 system taps into the flexibility of the software and enhances functionality. The integration will add substantial value in terms of pharmacy stock management. Furthermore, it provides even greater financial savings for RxWeb users, who enjoy the benefits of no license fees, no back-up fees, and no additional terminal fees for up to 6 terminals, allowing the pharmacy to grow their business without being penalised by further introduction of fees and contracts.”

Helix Health, a wholly owned subsidiary of Clanwilliam Group and leading provider of practice management and pharmacy software, is rebranding as Clanwilliam Health. All our individual products within the Helix Health portfolio, such as RxWeb, will continue to operate and develop within their own, independent entities.
