We’re delighted to let you know that the latest RxWeb update is now live!
As of today, all users will see a range of new features and enhancements in the system, all designed to streamline your workflows, boost efficiency, and support safer patient care
Whats new?
✅ Bulk Claiming (Scan2Claim) – Our new Scan2Claim feature allows you to scan multiple prescriptions at once, instantly identifying which have been successfully claimed and flagging any that need attention. This will save valuable time and reduce manual effort when handling NHS claims.
✅ Dispensing Robot Enhancements – We’ve improved how RxWeb integrates with dispensing robots. Our new interface now provides functionality for 2D barcodes, split packs and generic or brand choice. We have also added the ability to search for medicines by name (rather than just barcode). Users of BD, Avonnex, Omnicell, Willach, and Meditech robots will all benefit from these new efficiencies!
✅ Smarter Clinical Checks – Patient safety is at the heart of this update. New automated safeguards include an age check, allowing you to set a threshold where prescriptions for younger patients are automatically flagged for pharmacist review. A new configuration option allows you to set whether only a pharmacist can authorise scripts. We’ve also added an alert for users if a prescription contains a medication from the excluded drugs list. Plus, we’ve enhanced the Patient Notes feature to include Item Specific Notes, which remain visible and automatically print for relevant future prescriptions—keeping patient care consistent.
✅ Private Scripts API – We’re thrilled to be introducing our Private Scripts API in this release! This new API paves the way for exciting partnerships and integrations with third-party vendors, bringing us closer to a seamless prescription workflow for online-generated private scripts.
✅ Refined User Experience – Updates to the home screen, clinical checking layout, and improvements to bag labels all contribute to a more intuitive and efficient user experience.
✅ Bug Fixes & Performance Upgrades – System improvements to enhance speed, reliability, and security.

We would also like to draw your attention to two small changes to the label Layout and the “item not mapped” warning message. Both of these changes were implemented intentionally as part of our ongoing efforts to improve the system and your user experience:
1. Label Layout Update
We’ve adjusted the layout of the bag label to improve clarity and avoid overlaps. Specifically:
The Bag barcode and SMS consent text have been repositioned to the top of the bag label.
This change was made to prevent the barcode from overlapping with patient or medication notes, ensuring all information remains clear and legible.
2. “Item not mapped” Warning Message
We have made the “item not mapped” warning message clearer and more noticeable within the dispensing form:
- This message was made clearer to help users easily identify when an item has not been linked to the ordering module.
- Importantly, this warning does not block dispensing—you can still proceed as usual.

To clarify further:
- Mapping refers to linking a product in the dispensing screen to the ordering pad.
- If an item is not mapped, it simply means that dispensing it will not automatically add it to the order pad.
- Since many of our users do not use the ordering feature, this message may not be relevant to your current workflow, but we wanted to make the status more visible for those who do use ordering.
As always, our support team is here if you have any questions or need assistance. Thank you for choosing RxWeb — we’re proud to support your pharmacy.
